This text is based on a series of tutorials given to ophthalmologists in training by Mr J.J. Kanski. Forty-six structured tutorials in clinical ophthalmology are presented, with an additional 18 on the accompanying CD-ROM. In an illustrated format, this text summarizes the key facts for diagnosis and treatment of the most common eye conditions encountered. It can be used as a revision guide for those preparing for professional examinations, and can also provide a framework for acquiring more in-depth knowledge. The CD-ROM aims to be a useful tool for those leading a teaching session, presenting tutorials in Power Point slide format for over-head projection in lectures, saving time normally spent preparing material. Trainees can also use the slides as a self-assessment tool following a lecture, and as a guide to presenting a tutorial themselves.
